Edward D. Shoulkin is a skilled trial and appellate attorney with 37 years of experience handling a broad range of complex litigation matters. He represents multinational corporations, small businesses, and individuals in matters involving business disputes, insurance coverage and bad faith matters, construction litigation, product liability, premises liability, environmental litigation, class actions, and transportation cases. Clients rely on Ed’s ability to achieve favorable outcomes through trial, dispositive motion practice, and alternative dispute resolution.
Ed has particular expertise in defending professionals in civil disputes and disciplinary proceedings, including accountants, real estate brokers, engineers, healthcare providers, insurance agents, attorneys, property managers, and other licensed professionals. In his work on behalf of insurers and insureds, Ed provides coverage analysis and advice regarding insurance claims and policies and both defends and prosecutes claims on behalf of his clients. His insurance practice includes both first-party and third-party policy issues.
In addition to having served as a managing partner of his firm, Ed is active in the defense litigation community, including serving on the Board of Directors and as Legislative Liaison for the Massachusetts Defense Lawyers Association, and as a founding member and past President and Director of the Massachusetts Chapter of the Claims & Litigation Management Alliance.
