Who is Ann E. Motl?
Ann E. Motl is Senior Counsel at Bowman and Brooke LLP in Minneapolis, where she defends medical device and pharmaceutical manufacturers in product liability cases, mass torts, multidistrict litigation, and class actions.
She has served as National Coordinating Counsel (NCC) for medical device companies, takes depositions, acts as discovery counsel, and advises litigation teams on technology strategy across the lifecycle of a case. That work draws on an unusual background: Ann holds a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering (magna cum laude, University of St. Thomas) alongside her J.D. (cum laude, University of Minnesota Law School), is admitted to the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office, and clerked for U.S. Magistrate Judge Hildy Bowbeer in the District of Minnesota.
Ann writes and speaks on AI in litigation and the future of document review. She is a founder and past president of the Minnesota Disability Bar Association, serves as Strategic Initiatives Coordinator for the Federal Bar Association, and is a Future Leader with the Product Liability Advisory Council.
